Sunday Stitch School - Lesson 382: Diamond Eyelet Stitch

Today's stitch is an eyelet stitch and comes in the shape of a diamond. I used the instructions in The Embroidery Stitch Bible.

I found it useful to have a template to guide me.

Make a knot and start from the outside

as the hole in the middle will be crowded.

Work your way clockwise around the shape.

On the Aida cloth, I first made a cross.

Then I filled in the spokes for each quarter.

Homework: If a diamond is a sampler's best friend, then add a handful here.

  1. I like all kind of eyelets. The diamond eyelets could look like jewelry if done with metallic or other sparkly thread.
