Let Sarah's Hand Embroidery Tutorials teach us the Tacked Herringbone Stitch. It is a nice variation of one of the most basic stitches.
As you can understand you have to start
with a line of Herringbone Stitch.
thread and add small upright crosses.
Either you do the horizontal stitches first,
alternating upper and lower lines,
Or you work a line of Running Stitch
first,
Or you make each cross individually.
you use, but the Method 3 gives you the shortest
stitches on the back, and saves thread.

ReplyDeleteThe tacked herringbone stitch is a classic and it's good to see 3 different versions for comparison and to know which version uses the least thread. Good tutorial!
