Sunday Stitch School - Lesson 203: Pariser Stitch

It was at Fa's Kitchen that I found Pariser Stitch. There are photos, step-by-step pictures and a video.

The completed stitch might look like a Buttonhole Stitch, but as it is made up of Straight Stitch x 2, and both are anchored, Pariser Stitch sits better than the Buttonhole Stitch.

For me it was easier to stitch downwards, as you can see from my pictures. Compare them with the stitch direction in the link above.






Then you can turn the work and get the 'right' direction.

Homework:
Add Pariser Stitch to these three samplers.

  2. Yes, sits neatly and quietly, and works well within a fabric, perhaps even as a basis for some of the whipping and interlacing embellishments.
