I found this fun stitch at badasscrossstitch. Click on the link to see Shannon's instructions.
She has made her little stick figures on Aida, which I think is the easiest fabric to use, but I will challenge the design on plain weave, too.
Here is how to stitch it:
Make a long and narrow Cross Stitch,
for the body,
4 holes across and 13 down
Make a smaller, rectangular
Cross Stitch for the head
across the body
Homework:
Why not change the clothes? Fewer lines, different colour. You could even make a bikini!
Have fun populate the three samplers.
How simple can a stitch be? I like the quirky stitch before I have even attempted it. Lovely samples of your Otami stitch, especially the leaf shaped one.

ReplyDeleteNow, there's an idea with legs!
ReplyDeletePlease consider making a link on your side bar to "May I Suggest Monday". Sometimes I want to get back to these posts, particularly when I don't have time to really look at the blogs in the first place. The only way I can find to get back to them is to scroll through your blog posts. I think this is a great addition to your blog. I've even found some new blogs to follow. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteStickpeople have appearered.😵
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the change of Stickpeople.
This stitch has lots of possibility. I can see with a little tweaking here or there you could lengthen 'arms or legs' and maybe add 'hair.'
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun stitch! Does it have a name?
ReplyDeleteI do like that and a line of them like Maureen's would remind me of country line dancing!
