Friday Revision Homework - Stitches 151 - 155

 There are two kinds of traditional quilt pattern with bonnets. First there is the little chubby girl Sue and her famous Sunbonnet. Then there are the bonnet ladies, dressed in 19th century floor length gowns. Today I used such a design, and as it is nearing Christmas I have been working around that theme.

Lady Bonnet Sue is decorating her home.



This is the last Sunday Stitch School lesson for 2020. I will take a holiday over Christmas and the Japanese New Year holiday. Back on Sunday 10th. 

I will post Work In Progress Wednesday weekly, though.

      It took some time to work out how to space the stitches in a circle for the tree skirt, but I am rather pleased with the result.

    Oh your Lady Bonnet Sue is so lovely and the whole scene is so pretty and festive. Her dress is so pretty. Your chained buttonholes make perfect Christmas lights.

      This is the first Lady Bonnet Sue (my name of the design) I have made, but there are lots of patterns on the internet for appliqué and quilting.

    Sue is showing off her pretty bustle very nicely. The garland of chained hearts is so pretty for her tree.

    That's the kind of holiday decorating I like... and you won't have to put it all away when January rolls around. Fine tree with star and skirt.

      I was thinking of you, Julie, when I made the tree skirt, I have seen the stylish ones you made. It took a bit of thinking though to get the gradation of scale for the Split stitches to make the skirt spread out like that. Good brain exercise!
