WIPW - Chopping Up an Olive and Watermelon Salad

Work In Progress Wednesday has been slow as the temperature and humidity levels are high. Anyway, for

Crazy for Crazy

I have begun to make an olive and watermelon salad. No feta cheese yet, if ever I put any in.

The lace was dyed, the fabric cut and pieced and the first embroidery begun.

Birthday Card

I made a simple birthday card with the leftover silk (seen underneath the pink lace, in the picture above).

Stem, Fishbone, Detached Chain and Straight stitches in all simplicity.

    1. The more embellishments I add the redder the block will be I fear. I might have to add some olive stitches, beads and buttons to calm it down a bit.

    1. I am wondering how to use less watermelon and more olive in the salad, I guess I will have to pick out thread, buttons, beads and other embellishments in olive to keep the red under control.

    1. I was worried the red would overpower the olive, so I have started adding some olive stitches to even out the balance.

  7. Nice to see your dyed lace ..... the colours are lovely!
Love the stitches you’ve used so far. It’s always nice to see a few easier stitches along with the slightly more complicated ones.
The card is really pretty, I’d love to be receiving something like that! Lucky recipient!

    1. I enjoy trying to sue the various TAST and SSS stitches. Some are easier than others, so mixing them is good.

    1. This is just the beginning of the embellishments. I will toss in a lot of other things into this 'salad'.
