For Work In Progress Wednesday on my
Mola
I added a mushroom in the blank area (bottom left). There is more work to do in that corner as the mushroom is not very colourful.
Mola - Snippets of Interest
For some Mola eye candy, have a look at Fumiko Nakayama's blog.
Anyone visiting the Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival 2018 in Tokyo Dome, 25th -31st January, can see Ms Nakayama's entire collection in a special exhibition.
Read more about the rest of the show here.
Hi Queenie. Lovely work the mushroom is cute, you are very clever,I am also your newest folllower 💋
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment. The mushroom needs some brighter colours, so it will have to grow a bit.
DeleteNice addition!
ReplyDelete...but not very colourful! I will have to add something that catches the eye.
DeleteThe design is shaping up very well. very nice mushroom.
ReplyDeleteI hope it WILL be a nice mushroom once it gets a bit more colour.
DeleteMore progress!
ReplyDeleteI looked at Fumiko's blog and saw some of her work.
It's basically reverse appliqué, she uses very colorful fabric underneath with beautiful results.
Lots of possibility with that technique.
her quilts should be seen 'in the flesh' and with a magnifying glass - so small and invisible are the stitches. Not one frayed edge!
DeleteMy mushrooms, and other things, are having a fraying festival!
I'm sure the mushroom will be even more colourful when you've finished!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm working on it!
DeleteWow!!!!! Your Mola piece is looking fantastic, Queenie!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed visiting the links, the festival looks amazing! I presume you will be going to the show?
Ms Nakayama’s work is awe inspiring! What a gorgeous bag she is showing on her blog!
Hugs,
Barbara xx
The festival is one of the largest in the world. If you want to see and read blog posts from earlier years, check out my January posts in the archive.
DeleteI think ANYTHING that Fumiko Nakayama makes is awesome; I am very much looking forward to her exhibition within the festival.
Your mushroom looks like it was very fiddly to do with such small spots on it.
ReplyDeleteIt was fiddly and the fabric has frayed badly... sigh!
DeleteThe mushroom is a pretty addition to your mola.
ReplyDeleteI thought it would be better than a short stemmed flower.
DeleteThe mushroom balances the lower area very nicely. I like it.
ReplyDeleteIt was just the right height for that place.
