WIPW - Mushroom

For Work In Progress Wednesday on my

Mola
I added a mushroom in the blank area (bottom left). There is more work to do in that corner as the mushroom is not very colourful.

Mola - Snippets of Interest
For some Mola eye candy, have a look at Fumiko Nakayama's blog.
Anyone visiting the Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival 2018 in Tokyo Dome, 25th -31st January, can see Ms Nakayama's entire collection in a special exhibition.
Read more about the rest of the show here.

    1. Thank you for your comment. The mushroom needs some brighter colours, so it will have to grow a bit.

  4. More progress!
I looked at Fumiko's blog and saw some of her work.
It's basically reverse appliqué, she uses very colorful fabric underneath with beautiful results.
Lots of possibility with that technique.

    1. her quilts should be seen 'in the flesh' and with a magnifying glass - so small and invisible are the stitches. Not one frayed edge!
My mushrooms, and other things, are having a fraying festival!

  5. I'm sure the mushroom will be even more colourful when you've finished!

    1. The festival is one of the largest in the world. If you want to see and read blog posts from earlier years, check out my January posts in the archive.
I think ANYTHING that Fumiko Nakayama makes is awesome; I am very much looking forward to her exhibition within the festival.

  7. Your mushroom looks like it was very fiddly to do with such small spots on it.
