Mola
I have made a few more slits (lower left) and filled them with various coloured pieces of fabric, needle turned, and am now wondering what to do with the empty space to the left.

The Cuna Indians inhabit 49 of the approximately 365 small islands in the San Blas Archipelago, Panama. The islands are off the hurricane path, but are at risk from sea level rise, and might be uninhabitable in the late 21st century.

DeleteA lot of the land on which first peoples live is under threat as is their cultures.
ReplyDeleteYes, and I'd say their lifestyle is not the reason the sea level is rising, but they have to pay the price of others' mistreatment of nature.

ReplyDeleteGood idea, but the location is not the best - a bee or butterfly would circle round the flowers, not the ground, I think.

I really like the effect of those batik prints. It looks great to me. Now I need to get inspired.

ReplyDeleteMany of them are just sandbanks sticking up over the water's surface - still. Soon some of them are gone, I fear.

It is important not to add too bright or outstanding colours - that would drown the flowers.
