WIPW - Snake Guts

Work In Progress Wednesday. Time for a report:

It has been too hot to work during the daytime so I have let the midnight light burn while quilting

Trinity Green 
All the in-the-ditch quilting is done and I have something that looks like Snake Guts (intestine).
I am still pondering what to do with the 'tagliatelle' quilting. Free motion or Fancy Machine stitching?


NHK Partnership Quilt

 I have completed the block for  NHK's Partnership Quilt project. As you may remember, the theme was Tree of Life.
It was hard to do on this small scale, 15cmx15cm, and I settled for round leaves and made one round Swedish flag.
Last day for a contribution is 31st July. Read more here.

    I have been thinking of the fast approaching deadline and what will fit in a small block. I like your block and the creative way you included the flag.

      Sometimes I think they are not leaves but fairy lights on a bare tree in winter...

      Thank you. I felt no inspiration at all when I made this tree. Funny I have enjoyed making all the other blocks over the year. I think it is the small scale that was the problem....

    teasing us not showing your snake! What a pretty block you have made so fiddly to do being so small but so very worth it it is a beauty and love how you have your Swedish flag on it

      The snake is done and I have moved on to the tagliatelle. You will see a bit of the quilted pasta next Wednesday!

    Fun design and great stitching.
    I'm sure you'll tame that snake, I think snake guts are poison so don't eat it!

      If I remember my biology lessons snakes don't chew but swallow their prey whole, so there might be something unpleasant to see in the guts of snakes. However, my snake is on a wadding diet and only eats 3M's fluffy batting.
      More cooking: I have started on the tagliatelle, and the pasta is swirling!

    Love your block and I can imagine your quilt as I am working on one as well. I was going to do ruler work designs (mainly straight line) but got carried away with free motion stars. There is ALWAYS more quilting than you thought, so be prepared.

      You are right, there is MUCH more quilting than we think! I am getting fed up, but have started quilting the strips. I have followed your suggestion and use the walking foot and a fancy machine stitch, rather than true free motion quilting. More on Wednesday!

      I think this yea'rs Partnership block was the hardest of the 15 years I have participated. Although I love Tree of Life, the scale is too fiddly for a mature tree. This was the only way I could manage 'leaves'.

      Can hardly wait for the next viewing of the snake.
      Leaves or fruit? I'd say a bountiful tree with fruits of your labour. I also like your background fabric for the project. Fiddly, maybe, but well worth any bother.

      The snake is choking on the pasta! The guts are in a worse tangle than before!
