I have ripped off almost all the paper from the back of
Trinity Green
Compare it with last week's picture:
I will have to go shopping for some wadding. Also I will have to check for any torn seams or other weak points. Then comes the sandwiching, basting, practicing machine quilting on some spare odd blocks, and finally the machine quilting. It will all take some time so let's see what progress can be made until next week Wednesday.
Boy that's taking some time to remove all that paper...
ReplyDeleteYes, it has taken a long time, but I have been short of time.
DeleteThe quilt is going to be lovely, what kind of quilting pattern are you going to to?
ReplyDeleteIt will be something very simple and basic as I have little, ney, almost no, experience of machine quilting.
DeleteHow did this week go by so fast? How exciting to be ready to start sandwiching it together! Machine quilting is something I would like to learn, so I will be watching how you do it.
ReplyDeleteIt went by fast because of too much work! I've been exhausted by other things and hope the weekend will give me time to play with the quilt.
DeleteIt's going well, and will go even better. On the home straight, I think!
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope I will have the patience and energy, and time, to put together the last parts of making this quilt. End of the tunnel?
DeleteYou've come a long way! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy seeing this come together.
Thank you. Unlike you I have taken a long time to put this quilt together.
DeleteYour second name must be Lady Patience. - Wonderful - "bon courage" for successful continuation. Love!
ReplyDeleteOr Lady 'Taking-on-Too-Much'. I didn't think it would take THIS long to come this far! Now for the last spurt.
DeleteYATTA! Another hoop through! Enjoy the journey ... the destination will arrive in it's own time.
ReplyDeleteI hope it will arrive soon!
Deleteso good to see the paper has nearly disappeared happy quilting
ReplyDeleteThe quilt flimsy is so much lighter, and easier to handle too, without the stiff paper.
DeleteI like your comment about how long it took. Having done this myself, tearing out those papers, I thought you would be in for a time of it. Still you are there. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteYou know how tedious this kind of work can be, but it is a great project for 'pockets of time'. I often have 3-4 minutes when I can rip out some paper and then turn to the next chore.
DeleteGreat milestone indeed. Congrats! it is good and interesting to see the progress on this project.
ReplyDeleteI feel so glad to be rid of the excess paper. Now on to the next step.
