Work In Progress Wednesday report for this week is nothing to write (home) about. Just an addition to
Trinity Green
216 triangels were added. The total count is 7.884, and I have 35 'snakes'.
Fabric in Focus
The person who gave me this piece of fabric wrote on a sticker that the remnant is from a garment she made in 1967.
It's quality fabric.
I think part of the fun with all those fabrics is having such a wide variety of new and vintage. When I was little I used to examine the quilt I napped on to find matches. Wouldn't I have had fun with those triangles!
I love looking at the fabrics in my stash, at times. Other times I dind it quite depressing. But it is the old ones with all the memories hanging off them that I like the most.
These days we might not have as many remnants of old clothes in our stash as our grandmothers did, but we have bought fabric on our travels around the world, taken parts in swaps or dyed fabric ourselves. So there are many pieces that hold memories.
I write and keep this blog mostly for my own pleasure and record keeping. So adding information about the different fabric in Trinity Green will help me remember the history of each piece.
what a wonderful snake quilt you will have when all is completed. Sorry missed some blogs as been without lap top for over a week, got it back yesterday it had been corrupted!

ReplyDeleteOh, you are so right! This will be a throw, or bed cover for my daybed, so I will have plenty of fun with these triangles while napping!

DeleteMore progress! I enjoy the stories that go with all your different fabrics. Recycling gives new life and new stories.

ReplyDeleteCorrupted?! Has your computer had dealings with the maffia behind your back? Good to hear it is back to 'good behavior' again. Ha, ha!
