I only had time to sew seventy triangles, so the total number I now have is 1987 triangles on the paper strips.

Fuzzy cutting means that one cuts out a selected part of a print.
I have had this print in my stash for a long time, not knowing how to use it.
Although beautiful, it IS a very busy and overpoweringly PINK print, and I fuzzy cut the green leaves.

I have started the handquilting, and follow the black inked lines with running stitches in black thread.
Even small progress is still progress. My needles are going rusty!
ReplyDeleteIt is the rainy season in Tokyo, and I can assure you even needles that are in use are going rusty!

Cutting all those triangles would drive me batty. I have sewn triangles into paper by just using a strip of fabric the right width and then cutting the excess off after sewing. Of course it meant a lot of jumping up and down

DeleteSeeing all those cut triangles that are not yet sewn is also driving my batty. I must be getting super batty!

Only 70 SEWN this week. The week before I cut hundreds of triangles, and there will be thousands more to cut, and sew eventually!!! A glutton for punishment, eh!?

DeleteThat's good work, and not meagre. The pink peeping in the green is lovely. Starting the quilting is great.
ReplyDeleteI had intended to so much more... Yes, I like the pink that adds a bit of shy colour in all the green. Handquilting is so relaxing compared with the machine piecing of the triangles.

DeleteEverything is relative. My small amount of stitching in comparision to what you have done looks like the output of an ant. Yours looks like the output of a giant!
ReplyDeleteWe are both quite busy people, caring for others in need of TLC, and trying to find time for cooking, blogging and so sewing often suffers. I bet you are all set for the Childrens workshops and they will be the usual success. Have fun!

My aim with Trinity Green is to use up fabric in my stash, and I had no other plans for the bright pink lily print, so why not fuzzy cut the green, and do the same with the pink later for another project.
