Get Better Soon Card
Someone close to me needed hospitalisation and nursing care. I made this stump work portrait to wish for a speedy recovery.

This is wonderful Queenie! You have such wonderful ideas, and are so clever with your needle. You must have put smiles on faces of patients and staff who saw your card!

I hope the nurse is not a strict one, but caring and kind!
DeleteThis is so dear, Carin. It will help! I know about such fabrics ... they are real hard!
ReplyDeleteYou need a doctor if you are to hand stitch a medical coat (I had to shorten the sleeves) and will NEVER do it again by hand!!!
DeleteI have long admired your stumpwork people. I really am going to try one.

Thanks for your kind words. I will, in the near future, I hope, do a tutorial of stumpwork portraits.
DeleteOh Queenie, what a lovely card for the person who needs hospitalisation. I am sure this card helps her to recover a good health very quickly.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a nice week,
Isa
I hope she is gentle and caring and has a cupboard full of medication!
DeleteYou, too, have a good week.
How perfect!
ReplyDeleteI hope she can give perfect care, too!
DeleteYour little stump work cards are so sweet. I'm sure they will cheer up your friend.
ReplyDeleteYes, let's hope the nurse can not only cheer up the patient but cure serious illnesses, too.

ReplyDeleteYes, let's pray the good nurse has great powers of healing.
DeleteWow, this is a gorgeous nurse!
ReplyDeleteSo wonderfully created!
ReplyDeleteI love your stump work and I'm sure your friend feels better for receiving it.
ReplyDeleteYes, I hope the nurse will put a smile on her face and the positive energy will help the recovery process.
DeleteYour friend will be so grateful of your wonderful card, the nurse has such a cheeky smile.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the nurse has a thick needle up her sleeve, or a bottle of horrid cod liver oil!
DeleteI'm sure your friend will recover all the faster, having seen this dedicated nurse.
ReplyDeleteMiss Nurse no doubt will influence other patients to smile and get better while she is on show in the hospital.
Let us hope she is a fair nurse and comes to the aid of anyone in need!
DeleteI love your stump figures so much! I so want to try this! Impossible by Internet or books?
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Tanya, and I WILL post a tutorial on stumpwork portraits! I will also try to hunt down other information so there will be a lot to choose from.
DeleteYour stump work portraits absolutely amaze me. It may have been a pain to make, but it is a treasure. Hope your friend is feeling well soon.
