WIPW - A Dancing Doll Needlecase

Today, Work In Progress Wednesday  is about

Conveyor Belt Needle Case
I completed it with a few stitches, a 'tongue' and a little metal mesh bead.
 When I showed the work last week, a professional designer told me she saw a dancing figure in this one. I hadn't noticed but think she is right!
This is the other side.


With this project out of the way, what shall I do, start a new one? No, wait, there are some UFOs. I'll get to work on them first.

Pile 'em On
I haven't worked on this for ages so it is high time I put some more Canvas stitches into it.

Chicken Scratch

This Chicken Scratch project is something I have only been working on while travelling. However, I will probably not go on a train journey for some time, so will complete this at home.

    conveyor belt needle case is beautiful. happy to see your UFOs again. I really missed your Pile 'em on. looking forward to your progress on this and the lovely chicken scratch project.

      Unfortunately my eyes are not so 'young' any more and the canvas work on Pile 'em On is a bit too fine. I will be happy when it is finished, and I have learned the lesson; use proper canvas cloth for canvas work!!!

    I love your needle case and chicken scratch!! I have only stitched chicken scratch one time and really enjoyed it!! :)

      I love the look of Chicken Scratch, but sometimes got lost in the pattern. More concentration is needed than I had bargained for.

    What a great finish! I'm like you, wanting to finish a few UFO's. My problem is that there are so many new projects calling me! Glad to see you are posting regularly again. I missed you!

      I will be so pleased when I have finished my Pile 'em On, although I will probably continue to have a stressful life. It was started as a 'let off steam' project!

    Lots of goodies here. Those little needle cases are so cute. I have never seen ones like these before. Is the pattern your own design or is it a Swedish thing?

      The pattern is Swedish and from the craft magazine Hemslöjd. The same construction is often found in key holders.

      The Chicken Scratch needs a lot of work with a thicker thread to add interest to the rather bland pattern.

    Your needlecase is so cute, Queenie, and Pile 'em on is looking great!
    Your chicken scratch inspired me to make a little scissor holder (I like making small things) made with tiny pink check, some painted lace and embroidery. Not saying mine is chicken scratch - I'm not really sure what that is!
