WIPW - Weaving Crosses

Work In Progress Wednesday was initiated by Sharon at Pintangle and is a support program to help us work towards finishing various needlework projects. More information here.

My progress since last week Wednesday:

Kafferepet
I have started anchoring the lower edge of the lace with TAST stitch #77 Woven Cross Stitch.

Swedish Cushion
What better stitch to add to the Cable Chain stitches I added in December last year, than the latest one: TAST #140 Threaded Cable Chain?


Pile 'em On
Some more stray thread ends ended up on this pile. Some are curled, made as shown here. The circle is taking on more of a clear form.



TASTy Beads Galore
I worked a leaf in TAST #102 Beaded Triangular Stitch.


TAST Reference Chart
The last TAST stitch of the year, #140 Threaded Cable Chain, was added. It looks good on a curve, especially when you adjust the size of the loops, don't you agree?

    It is one thing to learn those stitches but you are so good at matching the stitches to your projects. All lovely as usual.

    Queenie, all the work is looking great. I totally agree about the way you have done the Threaded Cable Chain on the curve it looks lovely.

      Thank you! I was very pleased myself with the outcome of the TCC on the curve. As the loops are not going through the fabric one can manipulate them into all sorts of formations.

      The Woven Cross is a stitch with two legs and perfect for this particular lace with scallops that 'beg' to be tide down.

    You always come up with great examples.. The Threaded Cable chain, adjusted, on the curve has a lovely scalloped appearance.
    I so happy to see you named the Woven Cross. I'd forgotten that and can now rectify the stitch on my hussif notes.

      Hi Maureen,
      The TAST Reference Chart is a good place to show off how stitches look when worked in different shapes or sizes. I really wanted to have this scalloped curve stitch sample.
      Isn't the Woven Cross an impressive stitch?!

    the woven crosses are definitely perfect for this lace, you are right. the thread cable chain creeper looks lovely. beaded triangular stitch as leaf looks great. so many interesting things are emerging from this stray thread project. I do have to start working on threaded cable chain , I love your sampler.

      The Beaded Triangular stitch was a bit tricky to do 'backwards'; on a leaf you need to make one edge the mirror image of the other side. The thread, and mainly the brain, tend to get 'tangled'!!! I will play with your Beaded Barb stitch designs tonight.

      The Woven Cross stitch made the work quite quick as two of the scallops on the lace are anchored at the same time. While watching, well listening to, TV I have completed all the four sides. Yes!

    The woven cross stitch on your Kafferepet looks really nicely done on the white lace against the blue. More work on your Swedish Cushion. It must be looking wonderful!
