TAST #111 - Zig-zag Coral Stitch
The Zig-zag Coral Stitch, TAST #111, is based on Twisted Chain Stitch and easy to do. It looks great, too, so you get a lot of style for very little effort.
As there is not much thread on the back, this stitch is not a 'thread eater', which is good news if you want to use an expensive thread.

Deletevery nice Queenie, what count fabric is it you are using on the sampler one.
ReplyDeleteI think the technical term is 16 count monocanvas. Some stitches slip at the points where the threads of the canvas intersect. It was a bad choice, but the holes are so large I can see to count!

I think this is a great stitch in combination with others for a crazy quilt seam. Someone used it to fasten ric-rac and it looked really smart.
DeleteI tried this one the other day although I've not done Tast 104-110 yet. Yours certainly looks a lot neater on aida and evenweave than mine.
ReplyDeleteThis zig-zag stitch has the potential to change looks - either neat, stiff, geometric and perfect for a border, or it can grow wild and become a vine that entangles other stitches, takes any direction and size.
