In a Whirlwind ...

Dear Friends,

I return to the land of online connection and blogging in a whirlwind of cherry flower petals.
 Among the back streets of Tokyo there are quiet temples,

 mature trees with impressively healthy growth of new flowers, directly from the trunk.

Some petals 'fell' on a piece of embroidery I did while away.

This is now being damp-stretched and I will blog about it when it has been mounted and is fit to face the camera.
I am lagging behind TAST and need to get those WIPW projects out of the closet...

    How did you know I was just thinking of you! Today I was handed tickets to the show at Mitsukoshi ..." one for me and one for my friend" and you know who she was referring to

    Those trees are lovely. When I sit at my worktable I can see the blooming trees too, but they are not the same. I'm 7 stitches behind in TAST, so you're not alone catching up.

      All blossoming trees are beautiful! The cherries have such a short life and you have to enjoy them while they last. The camellias keep their flowers for months on end...
      I have now started on TAST 104!

      The piece I worked on while away is now completed and I have actually started on the next TAST stitch too, so hope to publish a post tomorrow.

    I was just thinking about 10 minutes ago that my garden is lacking in beautiful blossoms. Lovely photos. I'm behind with TAST too.

    Welcome home again Queenie. The plum blossom trees are beautiful and it is always a pity when the petals fall too quickly. I guess that makes the blooms all the more precious.

      We had some heavy rain during the night and I am afraid most of the cherry blossoms have fallen into the gutter... sigh

      Thank you for your kindness. It is nice to enjoy the spring flowers. It is soon time for the deep pink double cherry blossoms. They resemble sprays of carnation and are rather sturdier than the paler ones that were finally washed off the trees in last night's heavy rain.
