Friday Revision Homework - Stitches 16 - 20, as well as Lesson 21:Upright Cross Stitch

I have two pieces of homework.

First the Sunbonnet Sue sampler for stitches 16 - 20.
Sue went to Sweden and dressed up in a folk costume to go dancing.

Then there is stitch 21: Upright Cross Stitch, here used as a filling stitch.
This was easy-peasy.

Sunbonnet Sue turned out very well. So much more fun than just stem stitch!

I like the upright cross stitch in the diagonal stripes, makes an easy-peasy stitch look quite complicated.

Sue is resplendent in her finery. All ready to visit relatives and friends.
The Q fringe is perfect and the other stitches are well suited to their area.
I really like the effect of the Upright Cross block.

very beautiful embroidery on Sue. I especially like the Q stitch on her back of the head and puncetto valsesiano has come out very well. And the upright cross filling is very nice.

Not only much more fun, much more work, too, than Stem Stitch!!!

Once you have made one diagonal line, the rest is just filling in.

I agree, the Q stitch and its tail makes a nice fringe.

It was fun to dress her like this.

Thank you. I am glad you like my 'make-believe' costume.

The Q stitch on the fringe of the shawl and the Puncetto Valsesiano lace on the bonnet were the first stitches I knew how to use.

I like the stitches in the waist band. Sue does not sound much like a Swedish name.

Love your Swedish Sue!

Sue is only used in English as a nickname for Susan. The Swedish versions would be Susanna and has no nickname.

Thank you, Annet.
