TAST #119 Woven Trellis Stitch

Here is a nice stitch: TAST #119 Woven Trellis Stitch.
I have always liked woven stitches; they have structure and a beautiful surface. However, they do take a lot of time to weave. Then again, with a good audio book, some pleasant music or deep thoughts, it is rather meditative work.

Do you want to do some Zen Weaving? Go to Pintangle to learn the Woven Trellis Stitch.

Such a pretty sampler, Queenie! I always like the rythm of the needle in woven stitches.

Thank you. It can be used for so many things.

The Trellis Stitch is also easier to get an even weave; the Open and Closed Base Picots are difficult to pack a lot of rows on and the tip can become 'loopy'. I LOVE the Woven Trellis Stitch!

So awesome! I am way behind on my TAST stitching - it has been months since my last stitch. But your post is giving me motivation... :)

Thank you. This is a stitch that is beautiful in itself but can be worked into all sorts of shapes of flowers or insects.

A bit of variegated thread makes it even more interesting.

You're absolutely right. These variegated perle threads are perfect for woven stitches.

The variegated thread adds interest and you can see the shading well on these woven stitches.

Such fun examples of the stitch. The variations of colour are interesting too.

I just dipped my hand into the bag of thread and pulled out three bobbins. Lucky dip, I guess!
