TAST #111 - Zig-zag Coral Stitch

The Zig-zag Coral Stitch, TAST #111, is  based on Twisted Chain Stitch and easy to do. It looks great, too, so you get a lot of style for very little effort.
As there is not much thread on the back, this stitch is not a 'thread eater', which is good news if you want to use an expensive thread.

On Aida it looks like this:

On the sampler like this:
If you want to have a go at it yourself, head over to Pintangle.

Those stiches look great on both base fabrics. You are zooming along and I am playing catch-up.

very nice Queenie, what count fabric is it you are using on the sampler one.

Thanks!

I wonder if we will get two new stitches on Tuesday - I wanted to have these done just in case.

I think the technical term is 16 count monocanvas. Some stitches slip at the points where the threads of the canvas intersect. It was a bad choice, but the holes are so large I can see to count!

Your samples are very neat and quite clear. I love the colours.

Are you sure you like the dull colours? Your own work is so vibrant!

It's fast, too!

I think this is a great stitch in combination with others for a crazy quilt seam. Someone used it to fasten ric-rac and it looked really smart.

I tried this one the other day although I've not done Tast 104-110 yet. Yours certainly looks a lot neater on aida and evenweave than mine.

This zig-zag stitch has the potential to change looks - either neat, stiff, geometric and perfect for a border, or it can grow wild and become a vine that entangles other stitches, takes any direction and size.
I would classify this as a great and useful stitch.
Have fun!

Looks great, in all the sizes and colours.

Easy and fasst to stitch, and not using up a lot of thread, will make this stitch a winner! Try it!

Lovely stitches, Queenie. I'm still playing catch-up, but that means I can be inspired by you!

I am afraid my simple stitches don't offer much of inspiration, but they can be used in lots of ways.

You are an inspiration to those of us who have got behind.

It's very kind of you to say so, but I just wish I had done a bit more with the stitch than work my sampler.
