Work In Progress Wednesday - Dressing up the fabric

After adding the Friendship Band to the CQ block I thought the seam did not need any more decoration. So what to do? Well, you can always work with the fabric in the pieces nearby. So I made some straight stitches on the Japanese chrysanthemum print and placed a pearl in the centre of each flower (not very authentic for a chrysanthemum, eh!).

Further more I added a decorative line of Beaded Hedebo Edge stitches along one other seam. Instead of just one bead I used two golden pearls.

To see what Sharon and the others who show what progress they have made in their various projects are getting on click here.

Queenie I think how you have added to the flower works so well and the beaded hedebo looks great with 2 beds, these tast stitches are a great way of learning new ones.

Wow, Queenie, great work with the fabric and great use of the hedebo edge stitch! This stitch was completely new for me but I think I will use it often now.

Clever idea to use the fabric. I am very curious how the whole block will look.

I joined TAST for the purpose of learning new stitches to add to my QUILTS and this is what I did this week. After 41 weeks I have learned so much and have a wealth of new tricks for my quilts. Thank you, Sharon!

I couldn't agree with you more, Margaret. TAST has changed my way of quilting and whetted my appetite for doing more embroidery.

I too, fell in love with the Beaded Hedebo stitch and will absolutely use it again.
